ToggleSo what do I do to heal my eczema?
First things first, use the internet and social media to find people who have gotten a lot better and/or healed themselves from eczema so you can see it to believe it.
For the last 20 years of my life, my family doctor always told me, that eczema has no cure. Scientifically, that is correct.
Even though I didn’t want to believe it, because I heard it so much from medical professionals, I subconsciously believed it as well.
No matter what I tried, my eczema was always there. This aligned perfectly with what my doctor told me.
So I essentially gave up my control and responsibility and left it with the Doctors and their medication, only for it to get worse over time and taking over every aspect of my life.
I felt like I had no control over my eczema.
You have the power and responsibility to heal your eczema
I made this mistake and don’t want you to either.
By giving up the responsibility of eczema, you also give up your power.
I honestly didn’t want to deal with eczema.
Mentally and physically it was too much to manage in life.
It was easier to apply the creams and be done with it.
“I’ll deal with it when it flares up. But eczema always flares up. But eczema has no cure.”
This is the back and forth your mind goes through constantly.
When you see it and read it, you start to realize that you are mentally stuck in a loop because all your life you’ve been told eczema has no cure. So you can’t control the flares up which then makes you feel like you can’t control eczema.
You try treatments for a bit and when it doesn’t work, you find another.
It’s all about Progress
Find someone who has gotten their eczema to a manageable level where they are on a path to an eczema-free life.
Once it clicks in your mind, body, and soul, that eczema can be healed, you will take back the power and responsibility from whoever you gave it to.
In my case, it was all the doctors who couldn’t help me. Why? Because I wasn’t really helping myself either.
I didn’t research eczema to the extent that I am now. I didn’t give it my 100%. I gave enough to get by.
I found people who were able to get rid of eczema by following a certain diet along with a combination of natural remedies, supplements, and lifestyle changes.
Once I saw progress pictures of eczema warriors healing, I was inspired. I didn’t care what my doctors thought.
I was going to do this no matter what. I’m going to save myself.
I did consult a Naturopathic doctor to make sure I was on the right path, but this time around, I feel in control.
I bounce ideas off the ND, I bring different solutions and my ND helps me narrow down on the approach I should take.
Small wins
With eczema, there is no overnight fix. One pill, one cream, won’t heal us.
It’s a combination of things that work together over time.
So try to find the small wins in your day-to-day.
- Did I get more sleep than last time?
- Did I itch more or less than yesterday or last week?
- Are my affected areas more or less inflamed?
Take progress pictures! Keep a journal!
I hated taking pictures of myself when my skin was horrible. I was worried someone might see it and think differently of me.
If you are worried about that, lock down that folder of pictures.
When you see progress, that’s all the spark you need to continue.
And then you feel more in control of your health and eczema than you have ever felt before.
And that’s all you need to heal your eczema.
Healing Eczema Naturally
Doing this by yourself is possible. I did it. So can you.
But you’ll need a lot of focus, time and research to figure it out.
You need to experiment. Try different diets. Different supplements. Figure out your new lifestyle and more.
It can be overwhelming. It was for me.
I wish I didn’t have to do it all by myself.
That’s why I became a Skin Health Coach.
I wanted to help eczema warriors, like you, one on one.
I want to work with you as if a personal trainer was.
That way, you don’t have to struggle as I did.
That way, you have someone in your corner to motivate you and keep you accountable.
I use an assessment to figure out where to start.
Once we have a starting point, I use a combination of nutrition, lifestyle, and a few supplements to get you on track.
Oh, I even know creams and lotions that work!
